I plan on selling my NUC running ROCK and I was wondering what the best procedure would be to get rid of my Roon data/login and make it a simple process for the next owner to sign in and set it up as a ROCK for themselves.
For starters I would go to the Rock WebUI and format internal storage (if you have a second storage drive installed), then reset Roon Database and settings, and for S&G reinstall the OS:
As far as I can tell this should get you back to factory defaults? Try booting up Rock and see what it does after the above steps. I think it will be as if you just installed and it will ask for you to log into your Roon account to set-up Roon. I have not gone through this in a while so don’t exactly remember for sure.
From the knowledge base (I know it says Nucleus, but it should be the same for ROCK):
"Reset all Settings / Databases - It is possible to reset all Nucleus settings, Roon settings, and your Roon database back to “factory defaults”. To do this, click Reset next to the Roon Database & Settings section. This will not make any changes to your internal storage.
Format internal storage - If you have a hard disk drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SSD) installed in the Nucleus, it must be formatted by Roon OS before it can be used. More information on internal storage can be found here."
If you are really concerned then you could try reinstalling from scratch I guess.
Looks to have done exactly what I wanted… after restarting the NUC and attempting to access via a Roon Client (Mac) I had to choose a different core and I was then promoted to login to my account.
