Primare I35 not appearing in Roon Audio tab with Titan setup (ref#2SQX07)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· Running Roon with a Titan. I'm on my computer and using a Primare I35 as a DAC and Amp. It takes a great effort (and currently I can't get it to work) to get the Primare to show up on the Roon "Audio" tab. Why does it keep disappearing? How do I get Roon to find/recognize the Primare? It has worked before without issue, thus it should work now...

Tell us about your home network

· Custom built home network (and not by me). Roon Nucleus Titan is managing. Computer is hardwired to the network. The music files are on a NAS and I can see it from my computer. Roon opens on the computer -- it just doesn't locate my amp.

Hello @Andrew_Johnsen,

Thank you for the detailed description.

Since the Primare I35 has worked before and is now intermittently disappearing from Settings → Audio, this usually points to something on the control/host side rather than an issue with the Titan itself. To help narrow this down, could you please check and clarify the following:

  1. Exclusive / hog mode
  • Are there any other applications on your computer that could be taking exclusive control of the Primare DAC?
    • Examples: system audio players, media players, DAWs, browser tabs playing audio, or manufacturer utilities.
  • If you disconnect and reconnect the USB cable, does it briefly reappear in Roon?
  1. Drivers & OS visibility
  • Are you running the latest Primare USB audio driver for your operating system?
  • Does the Primare I35 appear as a valid audio device in your operating system’s sound settings (outside of Roon)?
  • If it does appear at the OS level, is it selectable and does system audio play through it?
  1. Roon System Output
  • In Settings → Audio, do you see the Primare listed under “Connected to this PC / System Output”, even if it’s disabled?
  • If yes, can you try enabling it there and confirm whether it stays visible?
  1. Security software
  • Are there any firewalls, antivirus, or endpoint security tools running on the computer that could interfere with local USB audio device access?
  • If possible, try temporarily disabling them and see if the device appears consistently.
  1. Connection details
  • How is the Primare connected to the system (USB directly to the computer, USB hub, etc.)?
  • If a hub or adapter is involved, can you test a direct USB connection?

Once we have these details, we’ll be able to determine whether this is a driver/exclusive-mode conflict or something else preventing Roon from maintaining a stable connection to the DAC.

Looking forward to your update.
