I am having a new problem when adding music files to one of me “watched” folders in that the program seems to have a problem accepting them into the main library.
This has now been happening for about 8 or 9 days and re-starting the app, re-booting the computer (etc) seem to have no effect. I have “forced re-scan” too and although the “to be added” number sometimes changes, the resulting spinning icon never gets to “0”
Currently I have 1198 tracks in the list of which only 68 are recognised. I have gone through the folders that were added and the songs are all playable, correctly tagged and many have embedded artwork so nothing is obviously wrong that I can see.
I am using Roon 1.1 Build 88
Any guidance on how to resolve this issue would be much appreciated.
On scrolling through the related topics I came across a user who had previously had the same problem and it seems it was mp3 files that were too small (or potentially corrupted) and by searching the whole library for anything less than 2Mb and then deleting these small files, I seem to have solved the problem.
I have restarted ROON several times and added more albums and it seems to have got over the blockage that it had for the last 9 days.
I will update this post if anything changes over the coming days
I am not sure the files that I deleted were actually the culprits - although the were showing as mp3 files.
There were 2 files that were clearly badly ripped as when I attempted to play them they only had 20 seconds of music and it may have been these but in desperation to solve the problem, I deleted almost anything that looked remotely suspect from my library.
Unfortunately I trashed them already so am unable to send them to you to check out sorry.
So far today all is still running smoothly but I have some more cd’s to rip later which I will add to the Roon library so will let you know if there are any issues.
