Description of Issue

Hi,

I just purchased a Nucleus and cannot seem to get it to work. The Nucleus was used briefly previously and I purchased from my trusted audio supply shop and owner.

The applications on my Macbook, iPad does not seem to be able to connect to the device.

I have tried a lot of things recommended on the site but here are the symptoms: For the most part, the apps do not see the Nucleus, BUT a couple of times of the 30 or so I have tried it does see the Nucleus, tries to connect and then fails.

Perhaps it needs a reset, but I cannot find a way to get into the unit via web app as I do not see the IP address on my router list (which seems strange)…

I can hook up an HDMI cable but do not have a USB keyboard as one option.

My network is solid as a rock, all other devices good…

@Bob_Willis, your Core is running Roon 1.8. Is this what you intend to use, or move to Roon 2.0? If you downloaded Roon software from the Roon download site, these Production versions are all on Roon 2.0, and you cannot mix 1.8 Cores or Remotes with 2.0 versions, everything needs to be on the same version.

Can you get to the Nucleus’ web administration page by typing the Nucleus’ IP address (appears to be 10.10.10.40 from your screenshot) or by typing http://nucleus or http://nucleus.local in a browser?

I would like to run the latest version of Roon but I cannot find a way to get to the web interface. The numbers that I have are not an ip address I do not believe. But will try that. The other connect options so not work. E.g http:\roon. Or any of the others.

I see there might be an option to connect a monitor and keyboard but I do not have a wired usb keyboard.

Any other ideas?

Well, it looks as though your audio dealer had set up the Nucleus with a static IP address (10.10.10.40), and your router is using a different IP range of addresses for your home network. I’m afraid that you’re going to have to borrow or buy a USB keyboard in order to reset the Nucleus to use the DHCP server in your router.

Ok. that was the best path that I think would take me to the reset.
I will see if I can borrow one, thanks!

Hi Roon community team.

That worked! I needed to reset the networking and the only way I found was to use HDMI connect and USB keyboard. I have been enjoying the solution since. Appreciate the guidance!!
