[Problem Solved!] DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1 (on Synology DS720+) terminates Roon 1.8 (Roon Server Legacy)

Dear Community Gurus!

I am running Roon 1.8 (Roon Server Legacy) DSM7_x86-64_20220919 on Synology DS720+,
10 GB RAM. Everything used to be fine - until I just updated DSM (from the previous version) to
DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1.

Everytime I start Roon Server software it is being terminated after ca. 20 seconds now.
In DSM package center it says “manually terminated”.

Rebooting the NAS or un-installing Roon Server Legacy and re-installing the (again) downloaded package RoonServerLegacy_Synology_DSM7_x86-64_20220919.spk does not solve the problem - software quits after 20 seconds.

Looks like the recent DSM update has broken something…

@crieke Do you have any idea how to fix this problem?

I have some good news to announce - even though I have to admit that I’m really embarrassed now…
Problem solved - classic case of PEBKAC - problem exists between keyboard and chair: :flushed:

After my downgrade from version 2.0 I had left version 2.0 on my Synology after installing 1.8 Legacy (other users had reported access problems to the database etc. after deleting it).
Now I got the hint about version mismatch by starting the client software, because on my Roon Core version 2.0 would run…

Indeed - somehow (it wasn’t me!) Roon Server 2.0 was started during the upgrade procedures, so understandably version 1.8 Legacy couldn’t be started at the same time.

I stopped version 2.0 - now 1.8 (incl. fresh update to build 1136) runs like clockwork again. :+1:
Sorry for the confusion!
