Hello,
I was trying to add the following album to roon: Yutaka Sado conducting the Tonkünstler-Orchestra with Roger Muraro and Valérie Hartmann-Cláviere of Olivier Messiaen‘s Turangalila-symphonie, recorded in 2018 (screenshots below).
It appears that Tidal has this album as well, also with the correct (more or less) metadata, including conductor, composer etc. and also showing it as one piece with its respectives parts/movement (as usual with classical music – something I really appreciate in roon, btw).
However, the problem is that for some reason I am not able to identify my local album with the metadata provided in roon. I have tried several ways with different models of searching for the album (interpreter/album name-wise), to no effect so far. I have even tried re-ripping the album with the metadata I found with the Tidal album.
I then edited the (unidentified) album manually with all the artists. So the current situation is that I can use the artists links as normal, but in their respective discographies I find now to entries of the same album, the local one and the Tidal one.
I have then been able to manually combine the two albums, so I seen them as two verions. However, it would still be great to have the individual tracks recognized as being part of one larger work.
Is there anything else I can do? Thank you very much in advance!
Here‘s the local, unidentified, but edited album:
Here‘s the album in Tidal:
And two examples of trying to identify the album manually, which were to no avail:
Here are the two grouped albums:
The individual tracks are recognized as part of the symphony in the Tidal album, but not in the local album (see also screenshot above):
