Problem with Nucleus Internal Hard Drive Setup

I have installed hard drive to Nucleus Plus. Successfully formatted.

However, I get the following message shown below-- two times in a row.

I don’t know specifically what this rather cryptic message is telling me I should do.

Thanks, Will

Hello @Will_Connor,

It appears that the network address for your Nucleus has changed. Please go back to your Roon Remote app -> Settings -> Setup -> Configure -> Click on Nucleus again if you need to access your WebUI page again. If this is a new Nucleus, please don’t forget to update the firmware on it before first use.

Thanks,
Noris

I have one IP address for the Nucleus and a different one for my Roon Endpoint Device (DAC). They should each have their own address, right?

The IP address for the Nucleus has not changed. It’s the same as from weeks ago. Roon is functioning and streaming through Tidal is functioning.

I don’t know if the IP address has changed for the “Device” (which I assume means my DAC/) because I never wrote it down.

If we should interpret that for some reason the IP address for DAC has changed how do we get an IP address that will get us through this roadblock?

And again, Roon and The Dac are functioning with this IP address. So, it doesn’t make sense to me that this should be a problem with attempting to access use of the hard drive.

Thanks,

Hello @Will_Connor,

Yes the Nucleus and the DAC should have it’s own IP address. That page just means that the IP address of the Nucleus has changed since you opened that webpage, possibly because the “lease time” of that IP has expired in your router and the router assigned the Nucleus a new IP address.

If everything is working as expected, I would not worry about that message. If it is persistently showing up every time you navigate to the WebUI, you may want to try to reboot your Nucleus and/or try another web browser.

If you would like to ensure that the IP address of your devices don’t change in the future, I would look to see if your router has an Address Reservation Feature.

Thanks,
Noris

Hi Norris,

I was thrown off by the message. I thought it was telling me something had to corrected. Very confusing/misleading message, in my opinion that has created a lot of wasted time. I think Roon mostly communicates instructions very well, however.

So, I have finally muddled my way through to successfully adding files to the hard drive. Thanks
