Problems with the "Show playlists in the sidebar" toggle after #1442 release [Fix released]

This may not be the proper place for this post, but has anyone else experienced the Playlist in the sidebar no longer responding when clicked if “Show playlists in the sidebar” is set to “No” on Samsung Galaxy S24? It is completely unresponsive, used to open my Playlist. I don’t want my sidebar cluttered with the list.

I’m thinking this may be due to the recent Playlist Improver upgrade which I am enjoying so far, just taking time to understand how to use it to meet my needs.

Has anyone else experienced the Playlist in the sidebar no longer responding when clicked if the “Show playlists in the sidebar” option is set to “No” on Samsung Galaxy A24?

It is completely unresponsive, used to open my Playlist. I don’t want my sidebar cluttered with the list.

I tried rebooting my phone and reinstalling the app but no change.

I guess this means the same thing:

I am not having the same issue with Windows 11 or my MacBook Pro, only with my Galaxy S24. But cannot speak for Windows 10. Thanks for replying.

Same issue with the Playlist being disabled on Galaxy S24 in the sidebar, however, no issue with Windows 11 or my MacBook Pro. (I started a new thread concerning this issue.)

observation on windows10:
when the option “Show playlists in the sidebar” is not activated
the menu entry Playlists is disabled

Hi, @Douglas_L_Smith, @Herbert_Kaindl, thank you for your reports. I created a separate topic for your complaints so that we can better focus on troubleshooting it. Could you, please, share a video or a gif that illustrates this issue with the switch?

Thanks!

Ivan

Hi Ivan, I saw my post was hidden due to it not matching so I started another thread, sorry the confusion.

There’s not much to share in way of a screenshot, the Playlist in the sidebar doesn’t respond when clicking it if the “show playlist in sidebar” is turned off.

I can confirm that on my Samsung S23, with “Show playlists in the sidebar” disabled, the Playlist menu item is deactivated (i.e. not responding) in the Roon menu.
It is working fine on my iPad.
Dirk

Yeah, I don’t have the issue either on iPad or macOS, I don’t know what it depends on

Hi @Douglas_L_Smith,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We tried to reproduce this in house but were unable to. Can you share a screen recording of this behavior?

Daniel, there is no behavior. The Playlist link in the sidebar doesn’t respond. No error message, just dead.

Another customer Dirk confirmed he has the same issue with Samsung S23. Mine is Samsung S24.

I believe someone else claimed he has the issue in Windows 10. My Windows 11 & MacBook-Pro are fine, no issues.

Daniel, I had typos, Galaxy S24, not A24, I edited my posts, so sorry for the confusion.

Daniel, was a ticket created to correct this issue?
As noted, it is the Samsung Galaxy S24 and someone else reported the same issue on the Samsung Galaxy S23.

Hi @Douglas_L_Smith,

In an effort to reproduce this in house, could you please reproduce the issue, share the specific date and time (or share a video) of when you toggle the setting off from you mobile device.

Afterwards, please follow the steps below to share a set of Roon logs from the mobile device:

Connect your PC to Android phone and install ADB (instructions are here (all platforms)). Then:

  1. Type adb shell in terminal
  2. Type logcat v (ref: Logcat command-line tool  |  Android Studio  |  Android Developers)
  3. Reproduce the problem and let terminal print logs for 3-5 more seconds
  4. Select output from the moment you started the reproduction of the bug till the very end
  5. Upload the log here and let us know once you have done so:

Thank you!

@Herbert_Kaindl, since you are seeing this problem on a Windows machine, could you, please, try resizing the app window and see if the issue persists?

Thanks!

Ivan

I am only seeing the issue on my Galaxy S24. I do not have the issue on Windows 11 or MacBook-Pro.

Someone else mentioned the issue on Windoww 10; it wasn’t me.
