Problems with The Who's "Sells Out (Deluxe Edition)"

I wasn’t sure whether this should be a Support issue or an issue for general discussion, but Metadata seems to be a Support subcategory.

I noticed that this album (see subject line) was kind of a mess, so I decided to fix it. I checked out the directory structure and filenames, brushed up on my mp3tag skills, and, to accommodate metadata, converted the .wav files to AIFF using DB Poweramp. I ended up with this (screenshot is from mp3tag):

So, filename contains disk and track number. Album name and Album Artist are consistent across all tracks. All files are in a single folder. Take note of the track length for one of the tracks.

Roon recognizes the album! Yet it ended up a bit odd:

Instead of a list of tracks, I’m seeing (I think) a “work” for each track followed by a track–and the track appears twice, not once: Note that the time associated with the “Work” is double that of the track plus a few seconds. This occurs only on Discs 1 and 2, mono and stereo versions of the album, respectively. (It’s a 5-disc set.) Discs 3-5 look as you’d expect.

This album is on Qobuz; there, it appears as you would expect, with a single line for each track on the first and second discs.

Anyone know what’s going on?

Jim

Feels like possibly more of a Support issue, so moving there.

Hi @Jim_Austin,

Please navigate to this album’s Edit Album dialog window by clicking on the three dots from the local Album page.

First, try selecting “Fix Track Grouping.” If that doesn’t help or exacerbates the issue, please share a screenshot here of the Metadata tab in the same dialog window.

The team will request logs from the relevant RoonServer instance in the meantime. Thank you!
