I have just installed Roon on a Intel NUC i5 and almost everything seems to be running smoothly. I do however have issues with my profile and most of all last.fm srobble. I have used my LinkedIn profile picture for my Roon picture, but it keeps disappearing and then appear again. Last.fm says it is not able to log into last.fm and sometimes it is logged in - but it doesn’t scrobble all songs. I am using both an iPhone SE, desktop PC running Win10 and an iPad. The issues goes across platforms.
I have previously tried the trial version of Roon with the core installed on my Desktop pc - here scrobble worked fine.
Have anyone else had these issues?
Thanks for contacting support, I’d be happy to assist here. I have tried to scrobble a few songs on my ROCK setup and it seems to be working as expected. With the symptoms you mentioned and scrobble only partially working I am wondering if there is some kind of communication issue between the ROCK and Last.fm. Do you by any chance have any firewalls active in your router blocking Roon? Can you please list the model/manufacturer of your router and any other network gear you have in this setup?
I have previously seen network issues be resolved by updating the router’s DNS settings to Google’s DNS (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4), can you please give this a try and let me know if the same issue still exists after doing so? I have also noticed that the scrobble only properly goes through if the track reaches it’s natural conclusion, meaning that if you press next track before the track changes, then it is not being recorded by Last.fm properly, is this what is happening in your playback attempts by any chance? Please let me know when possible.
I never got back to you! I did indeed have some DNS setup in my router, which I excluded the Rock server from. There was also an update the same day, that should have fixed some DNS issues. But now it works - and I am listening a lot .So thanks a lot for the support.
