Recently upgraded my HTPC from an 7th gen to 14th gen PC and all SSDs from old HDDs.
Talk about a HUGE performance increase.
But on the old device I had 2 profiles: mine and my wife’s. I have our local files stored in 2 folders (His and Hers). I can swear that when I selected my profile it would only show items in my folder and vice versa. It’s been so long I don’t remember how I did it. Any ideas?
Profiles do not split the library, or the library view. You might have setup a bookmark of a storage location. If you go to albums, focus, go to storage locations, do you see separate locations for His and Hers?
Some questions What is the OS of the HTPC. Are the drives internal or external. How did you have the storage location mapped in Roon.
When I switched to her profile to set Focus to her folder, it still showed mine and wouldn’t let me change it. I tried deleting all the focus under mine but then reversed happened.
And then the locations “disappeared” under Focus for Artist
Set the focus on you, like you did, and then create a BookMark. Clear the focus, then focus on her, and create a different bookmark. Then when you start Roon up, click on your Bookmark and done. When she starts Roon up, she should click on her bookmark.
As long as you both don’t use the same client, the client you use should remember the bookmark, aka saved focus setting, If you change the focus, afterwards you need to re-apply the bookmark. Now this won’t segregate Playlists
My final solution to keeping me and my spouse’s music separate with marital harmony was to have two Roon servers. Solved every issue.
The focus in for the Album page and should be “sticky” for that page unless you remove it. The Artists page will still have all the artists, however, since it doesn’t have a focus.
