Prog and Proud!

Great release and listened several times already.
Very disappointed that it’s not available on BandCamp, where I have purchased all their previous releases.

EDIT: My CD copy was shipped this morning and looking forward to ripping it and playing it several times in my CD player

Is there a subgenre for ‘operatic prog’? If there were, surely KOTEBEL’s album OMPHALOS would be at the forefront! This is a truly unique and compelling brand of progressive rock. In addition to the pastoral and symphonic, this album features extended instrumental passages that are rock and fusion oriented. Highly recommended.

Another upcoming release that might appeal to some that frequent here…

Cosmic Cathedral - the union of Neal Morse (Transatlantic), Chester Thompson (Genesis), Phil Keaggy (Glass Harp) & Byron House (session player with Robert Plant, Dolly Parton etc) – are pleased to announce the release of their debut album ‘Deep Water’ on the 25th April 2025 via InsideOutMusic.

The debut album ‘Deep Water’ was created largely from jam-sessions, resulting in what Neal Morse calls “prog meets yacht-rock meets The Beatles”, and includes the epic 38-minute title track. [bandcamp]

Not particularly impressed I’m afraid :pensive:

That was my original thought as well, especially the astronomy lesson. On repeated listening with headphones it is growing on me. 8/10.

I did wonder when I first listened, if it was more of a headphone listening album. I will give it a try again and see.

Mmh, first time listening with headphone was ok for me, but not more.
Now, after getting the BluRay I can only say: The best sounding album from Mr. Wilson I’ve ever heard (and I know almost all of them).
So: If you’ve a good multichannel setup, give the BluRay a chance.

Why did you have to say that.
I almost pre-ordered it as a Blue-ray :man_facepalming:
