With all the hubbub this week over Prince’s estate releasing an EP, I was surprised to find not only the single, but the entire EP, all 6 songs, available on Tidal. Without hesitation, I added it to my Roon library and my listening queue. The first song, the title track, played. I quickly favorited it. As the second track started, a little dialog box popped up, informing me that the track was not available on Tidal. Well, that was a lie, because it was playing! Alas, it played about 3/4 of the way through and then skipped through the remaining tracks, telling me each was not available.
I sure hope Prince’s estate get’s its act together and every release doesn’t involve someone suing somebody else. Sadly, the Purple One is gone, but I’m betting there’s a lot of great music still to come our way!
