· I mistakenly accepted the latest update and now my Qnap TVS 471 won’t run Roon. I have looked at Docker Station posts but Container Station will not open. So I have fallen at the first fence.
i will guess that SSD (based on the name of the other 2 volumes); BUT, to be 100% sure, open “Storage & Snapshots” and navigate to “Storage/Snapshots” ; the volume marked as System , should be the one. NOTE: this is assuming , you were presented with that choice when trying to install “Container Station” from '“App Center”
As far as I can tell, the app is to manage (Start/Pause/Stop) Container Station apps only. You can’t create new apps with it. That you don’t have any apps to manage currently might also be the reason for the message you see. Please use the web interface of the NAS to create the Roon Server Docker application. The web interface is also what the documentation is written for.
Apache Server at 192.168.196.1 port 80
Try port 443 or https://192.168.196.1 instead. If it does not work, try to configure web access using the app.
I don’t know how to help you remembering your credentials.
Eventually there is a hardware password reset option available for your NAS, please read the manual or try QNAP customer support.
I assume my user name is admin I never changed it. I have reset my password, but that still doesn’t work. Completely lost now, but appreciate your efforts…
I assume you followed the user guide for your model and QTS version to reset the password? For example, resetting is typically done by pressing the reset button for 3 seconds , and then using admin as the userid, and the first MAC address as the password (label on rear on NAS). You access the web interface on port 8080.
I have followed all advice, I don’t know what I’ve done now. I’m using Qfinder pro where it says I can go to settings to connect via SSH protocol, but I can’t find settings as shown on the screen
Every road takes me to Smart Installation, but I don’t want that to wipe my hard drives
I couldn’t reset my password, looking Into it, there is a bug, so I’m following what should be simple instructions to rectify this, but there comes a point where what I see is not what is shown. I really have to give up on this now as I don’t want to lose data on my drives. Sadly I don’t have any other way to run Roon for now. I can’t afford expensive hardware just now either due to personal circumstances.
I really need someone who knows their way around these things, it may be simple for them.
Giving up for now, may be the best part of valour as I can’t run anything now.
I do thank you all for your help and moral support though. I’ll need a rethink on how to get Roon back without a big spend. Chris
