Description of Issue
Occasionaly roon starts breaking up and then skipping to next track when playing 192/24 qobus tracks. The attached log file may show the error: 10/01 07:29:35 Debug: [prebuffer] sleeping in read – this isn’t good
I use Wifi only (easy) for Roon (ROCK) and never have a problem.
Are you sure your Internet connection is fast enough? Example: A 10Mb ADSL will not suffice.
If you have both a wired connection and Wifi, don’t use the Wifi. Wifi speed rapidly decreases as you move farther away from the router.
Not necessarily, you can still get dropouts, I did with Qobuz and no other streaming service on my Kef speakers, Tidal, Deezer. Never an issue on local files on my NAS only Qobuz.
Ben with the support team here, I wanted to check in on this thread to see if you were still running into dropout issues when streaming from Qobuz?
If so, can you please take note of the specific date, time, and track playing when the issue occurs?
From there, if you’d like, we can diagnostics mode for your account, and what this action will do is next time your Core is active, a set of logs will automatically be generated and uploaded to our servers for analysis.
Thanks for the information. A review of your core diagnostic points to a throttling of network bandwidth occurring moments before playback stopped.
A few things to try:
Bypass your network switch and test out having a direct connection from your core device to your router.
Review your router settings and see if there is any bandwidth priority given to other devices on your network, and if so, see if you can provide your core device with priority.
