Describe the issue
Qobuz is frequently unable to log in within Roon. When using Roon ARC on the go, there is no way to resolve the issue.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing that link. I know how incredibly frustrating it is to be locked out of your streaming library when you are away from home and relying on ARC.
While there isn’t a widespread outage, we do see isolated cases where Qobuz’s authentication servers block, timeout, or drop login requests that originate from specific mobile carrier IP address ranges or specific network routing setups (like certain CGNAT or IPv6 configurations).
To confirm if your specific mobile carrier’s network routing is what is causing Qobuz to reject the login attempt, we can quickly test a different route.
Troubleshooting Step: VPN Test
Download and install a free VPN application on your Android phone (such as ProtonVPN or Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 app).
Turn off your Wi-Fi so you are using strictly cellular data, and activate the VPN connection.
Open Roon ARC and attempt to log into Qobuz.
If the login successfully completes while the VPN is active, it definitively confirms that the issue lies with how Qobuz is handling your specific mobile provider’s IP routing.
Please give this a try and drop a reply here with your results so we can determine the best next steps!
I can’t install VPN on my phone. Native Qobuz app works just fine. Roon ARC works. Qobuz inside Roon fails to connect all the time until I open the roon desktop app on my Mac. Sorry, this is your issue. Fix it please because it makes roon unusable for me while on the road.
Thank you for your patience. We recognize long-standing connectivity issues are frustrating.
Logs from the Roon Server machine indicate that nearly every upstream request to cloud services, including images, metadata, and Qobuz itself, is timing out. This NAS is not able to sustain a TCP connection to upstream sources, and the Qobuz authentication failures are simply a casualty of that condition.
This strongly suggests the network is resolving DNS requests in the manner Roon expects. If you haven’t already tried, please enter your Wigno router settings and ensure a reliable DNS service is assigned. We recommend Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). This will affect ARC, too, because authentication requests between ARC and Qobuz pass through your Roon Server machine, as well.
