Qobuz media is loading slowly - and skips tracks

Roon Core Machine

MacBook Pro 2017, 2,3 Ghz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 8 GB ram, dedicated to running Roon Core

OS: MacOS Monterey version 12.3.1

Networking Gear & Setup Details

Coax cable to Sagem 3890 router, which is hardwired to Roon Core Machine and to my Roon Endpoint (have only this one): Pro-Ject Stream Box S2 Ultra.

Speed tests show network speed just above 90 mbps (and do not seem to drop when this problem occurs).

Connected Audio Devices

Number of Tracks in Library

I only stream and have very few tracks locally.

Description of Issue

Since I switched from Tidal to Qobuz I can often only play the beginning of a track. Then Roon reports “Qobuz media is loading slowly” and that there may be network connectivity problem.

I do not have other network connectivity problems (streaming movies, for example), and the problem occurs irrespectively of how much the broadband connection is used by others in the household.

I have hard-wired everything, updated software and OS, turned off the router and so on … but to no avail. Is there anything else I can do — except going back to Tidal, where this was not a problem?

Thank you.

Hey @Christian_Frankel,

Thanks so much for reaching out and for your patience here! I’m sorry to hear you’re running into audio dropout issues, these can be extremely frustrating to deal with. After reading through your issue, it sounds like it could potentially be something related to a network issue, so let’s dig in a bit deeper here.

  1. Are you seeing this with just Qobuz? What about local content?

First, can you start with power cycling each of your devices? Start out with your Core, then your Sagem 3890 router, and lastly your Pro-Ject Stream Box S2 Ultra endpoint.

Do you still experience this issue if you stream music straight from your system output VS using your Roon Endpoint?

Lastly, @Christian_Frankel, we’ve recently released a bug fix that deals with the issue you are experiencing. Please make sure you have the most up-to-date version of Roon (build 952) and confirm that you’re still able to reproduce this issue.

I will be monitoring this thread for your reply!
