Description of Issue

My digital end has been working fine but yesterday and today keep getting an error “Qobuz media loading slowly. This may indicate a networking or connectivity problem.”

After that I signed out of Qobuz and signed back in, I restarted DAC, streamer and Nucleus. I also disconnected all Ethernet cables and re-connected. I then did a hard reset on my Lumin streamer. I am not sure what the issue is or why it is doing this.

@wklie Are you aware of any Qobuz API problems or is this a ROON specific (integration) problem?

No Qobuz API problems.

What ISP type are you using? do you have a router that you can try rebooting?

Another idea would be to go to “settings/library” and click “clean up Library” when you do this a window comes up telling you if there are deleted files or un associated files that need to be cleaned up:

You might also try deleting the Cache file for Qobuz:
This is what it looks like on ROCK (I do not have qobuz so it may have more than one file?)

  1. Follow the previous post for clearing cache and cleaning up library.

  2. If possible, try connecting the Nucleus to the router, bypassing the switch.

  3. If problem persists after 48 hours, change router DNS to 8.8.8.8, then reboot the whole network of devices including but not limited to router and Nucleus.

I don’t mean to highjack things…

I personally find my PC desktop remote (Wireless) loads Qobuz album cache very quickly.

In contrast my iPhone 13 Pro takes more time to cache the same album art. But once cache, art loads quickly.

Noticeably different. Any ideas why this would be?
Cheers

Try clearing the Roon image cache on the mobile:

Did you disable Low Power Mode?
Settings > Battery and disable Low Power Mode .

You can also try clearing Safari website data
Settings app > Safari and tap Clear History and Website Data

And also stop unnecessary apps from accessing Location:

  1. Open Settings and select Privacy.
  2. Tap Location Services.
  3. Find unnecessary apps that have your location access and tap
  4. Select Never.

Check your photo library and see how much free space is left. If storage space is low this results in lagging.
Furthermore, you can set iOS to remove seldom used apps automatically to free up space, while maintaining your files and data for those apps. Open Settings, go to General > iPhone Storage , then select Enable next to Offload Unused Apps .

Hope it helps

Phone is in High power mode,
100gb spare storage,
I’m not sure what Safari has to do with the Roon app?
My phone already has location turn off while not in use.
etc etc

The issue only occurs, when browsing un cache content on the phone.
It takes considerably more to time cache album art v’s PC.

I would expect Roon to load iphone album cache without having to “view” or scroll through the albums.

Sorry, I don’t understand, have you cleared the image cache in the Roon app on your phone, as shown in the picture above?

Not sure you can fairly compare a pcs performance to a phone. The phone all said and done has limited cpu and memory to handle multiple downloads of the artwork where the pc has far more resources at hand to accelerate the process.

Definitely right. I have several mobile remotes, all different in speed. Fastest is my Samsung Ultra with 12GB Ram, slowest is a Kindle tablet that makes you fall asleep while scrolling. And the more resources are used, the slower it gets. That’s why I suggested freeing up memory space, clearing website data, etc etc.
FYI I made a screen recording with the Samsung phone a while back, playing to 4 zones simultaneously, testing scrolling, calling up more than 500 tracks in a playlist, shuffling those tracks, etc etc. I can’t complain.

I feel sorry for the OP that his thread was hijacked like this.
@moderators
Wouldn’t it be better to make a separate thread out of it?

That wasn’t my intention.
I apologise.

I just tried this. It started to play the song a little longer but than the same error occurred.

Hey @Garret_Ganesh,

Thanks for your patience here! I wanted to check in to see if you were still seeing errors pop up in Qobuz?

If so, could you please share the track name as well as the date and time you see the error pop up next?

I’ll be monitoring this thread for your reply. :+1:

@support yes still having the issue. I can play any song and still have the same error. It plays for a few seconds and then stops. I have attached a screen shot.

Keep getting error message “Qobuz media is loading slowly. This may indicate a networking or connectivity problem.”

I have reset my whole home modem, I hard reset the Lumin streamer, I have powered off Nucleus along with clearing library and cache. Problem still exists.

@support any ideas on how to fix this?

How are the core and streamer connected to your network? And, is your Qobuz library only 100 tracks? Are you using DSP? Finally, what DHCP servers are you using?

They are connected using an ethernet switch, D-Link.

My Qobuz library is only streaming, I meant I have about 100 tracks on the internal SSD of my Roon Nucleus with various DSD and FLAC files.

I am not using any DSP.

How can I tell what DHCP servers I am using?

Thanks
