I use Qobuz as my streaming service in Roon. When I try to stream the album "Foxes in the Snow" by Jason Isbell, all the tracks show up as "unavailable" and they refuse to play. If I open the same album directly in the Qobuz app all the tracks play. I haven't encountered the problem with other Qobuz tracks played through Roon. How do I resolve this issue?
Describe your network setup
I stream using a NETGEAR Orbi 3 router and Bluesound Node player
The album was released yesterday, and Roon doesn’t receive updates from Qobuz daily, which means the stream data is missing, i.e., there is often some lag between Roon.
Why aren’t the latest albums on Qobuz available in Roon?
When you’re browsing Qobuz in Roon, you’re seeing Roon’s Qobuz database, not a direct pass-through of what’s shown on Qobuz – that’s why there’s so much more metadata, like recording dates, lyrics, links to composers, credits, etc.
This is also why Roon can sometimes be slightly behind Qobuz when a brand new release comes out – our database is generated daily, but sometimes a new album will just barely miss the cutoff and will show up in a day or two.
When this happens you can add the new release directly in the Qobuz app. It will then appear in your Roon library.
I hadn’t encountered this kind of a delay before, so I didn’t know what to make of it. Thank you for directing me to this useful information. I am confused by the last line: “When this happens you can add the new release directly in the Qobuz app. It will then appear in your Roon library”. I don’t see how I can possibly add an album to my Roon library from within the Qobuz app. Am I missing something?
In the Qobuz app, mark the album as a favourite, and it will show up in Roon. Occasionally, it’s worthwhile going to Roon Settings → Services → Qobuz, and selecting Edit and Sync Library Now.
An album being a favorite in the Qobuz app and being in the Roon library are equivalent things.
Every Qobuz album you add to the Roon library becomes a favorite in the Qobuz app. And conversely, an album that you favorite in Qobuz is added to the Roon library.
Thanks, again, for the helpful response. I was unaware that liking something in Qobuz would add it to my Roon library. Nor was I aware about re-syncing. There is still a lot for me to learn about Roon. I tried both your suggestions. The title did appear in my Roon library, but still with all the tracks listed as unavailable. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see if it becomes available in Roon in the next day or two.
Same problem here, but I originally added the album from the Qobuz app. Reboots, removing and re-adding the album (both from Roon and in Qobuz) haven’t solved the unavailability in Roon. Never seen this issue persist like this before. Running Roon Nucleus One.
It’s possible that the version that was first in Qobuz remained unavailable but was replaced by a different, available version. In this case, if you added the original, unavailable version to the Roon library, it would not be automatically replaced by Roon (this is known behavior).
I searched for the album now and the version it finds has available tracks and it plays:
Thanks. Was still unavailable this morning, so I removed it one more time, synced Roon to Qobuz again, then found the album on Roon’s home page. It played fine from there, so I added it to my library in Roon and, finally, everything seems to be working.
Same thing for me. Deleted it from my Roon library. Searched for it and it came up with payable tracks. Finally. Never had this problem with a new release before. I quess, for some reason, Roon was slow resyncing with Qobuz this time.
