Roon appears to be able to handle artist name sorting if the name includes “The”. My questions concern band names like Branford Marsalis Quartet or Al di Meola Project. My feeling is the sort name should be “Marsalis Quartet, Branford” and “di Meola Project, Al”. This way the albums sort by the artist’s name. All permutations of Branford Marsalis’ projects will be sorted together. Similarly, Al di Meola’s efforts will be sorted together regardless if they are with his band or are solo efforts. Does anyone agree and is it worth the effort to manually change all these sort names? Is it possible this is something Roon might do with their metadata?
