Question about profiles

Hide albums per profile/user

As profiles don’t really allow for a user to have a separate library. It might be good to be able to hide albums/artists when you are in a specific profile but show them when using another profile. This way my 6 year old daughter can have her own “library” with all her children’s music, my wife can have hers and I can have my own. This way all music can be in the same library but everyone will have their own personal view just by clicking on their profile icon.

Focus on the user experience : multiple users

Hi, @andybob, @Ludwig, @Georgethesixth . This topic has been discussed on the board since, well, months… is only one thread. The problem is that focus does not do what people are requesting, which is complete physical separation of music AND meta-data from each profile. And currently the only real way to do that is to run a separate Roon license for each user. Then I don’t see the point in profiles at all in Roon. Or am I missing something here?

Because although the library is shared the profile is not. Play history, Favorites, tags, Playlists, etc are tied to the Profile. That way, you can create a Playlist and another profile won’t see it. You won’t get recommendations based on what another profile has played. The only thing shared is the library.
