Question for Qobuz Subscribers

I look at the New Releases section each week, called “Qobuz Grand Selection”. But I am pretty sure it is curated, rather than a complete list of new releases for the week available on Qobuz. If I am correct, how can I view a comprehensive list of new releases on Qobuz?

Thanks in advance!

It’s a selection of them yes not all new releases. In Roon there is no way I am afraid. Not even sure Qobuz app does.

It’s plainly visible on their app it’s curated.

Agree it’s curated…u can see more by filtering by each genre ur interested in. My Friday ritual is look at the curated list, look by genre, then go to the HDTracks.com “New Releases” and scroll through all of them to see what stuff I missed on Qobuz…the occ rock/indie rock release will hide in there and esp some classical releases and remastered stuff that wont show on Qobuz (like all the various new Vox Audiophile releases)…I also look at new releases on Metacritic and the my various classical review sites during the week! Tedious but dont miss much…listening to it all is another issue entirely!

Phillip,

I get an email newsletter each week (typically, on Fridays) from their Qobuz Club. Although it’s of no use to me because it seems to be all pop, it does claim to be a roundup of new releases.

For ‘classical’ there are sources like this on Presto; would this from Classical Music Sentinel be of any use to you? Or are you looking specifically for newly-released music which Qobuz supplies?

Thanks, Mark. The Qobuz new releases are how I discover new music, across many genres. If I like what I hear, I can add the album to my library. So, I am really only interested in albums available for streaming on Qobuz.

Thanks, Douglas. Yes, it does sound tedious. As I explained to Mark, I really want to see only what’s available on Qobuz. I will try your genre idea, but part of the fun is discovering new music across many genres. Also, the genre labelling from Qobuz is a bit wonky. I have seen electronic music listed as classical, thrash metal listed as pop, and experimental jazz listed as just plain jazz.

I’m afraid Qobuz is not so good at discovering new music than other streaming services, it’s a weak link in the service.
I look at genre specific review sites, Bandcamp and emails I get through from labels and band mailing lists themselves.
Yes it’s tedious.
If you want to avoid the tedium, consider Tidal, it’s music discovery is very good.
Btw Qobuz integration is tedious anyway, releases disappear all the time, it’s release whack a mole.

When I was on Tidal, I wasn’t impressed by Tidal. I got really annoyed when it repeatedly push hiphop music no matter how much I down vote that genre. Spotify has the best “learning” of your taste and recommendations that fits your listening taste.
