Question for Roon 1.0 Build 29

After installing the newest build the software started to re-extract metadata tags.
I have apr. 317k tracks on 3 different NAS.
The first rescan crashed after about 10k tracks and the process restarted again.
With the actual re-axtract speed the whole process might take up to 2 month, the PC running 24h.
Isnt it better to re-setup the whole software again from the beginning?

Thank you

@miklats I have a similar number, all done in 3 hours, have you rebooted the server after the update?

Russ

Yes, I restarted the server.
The actual process started maybe 10 hours ago, with 1200 tracks re-taged.
My whole network is wired. JRiver works fine.

Add: I restarted the Server again. Much better speed now. If it keeps up the whole process will be done tomorrow.

Add: After 127k files the process was stuck again and crashed. I restart again.

still 170k tracks left. Very slow again. Last 1k took 5 hours.

Isnt it better to re-setup the whole software again from the beginning?

The work done during re-extraction is much smaller than the work that’s done during initial setup (in our testing it takes significantly less than half as long). We did a test run of 220k tracks that took right around an hour. If you are seeing a huge difference, it points towards a change in configuration, network behavior, or system performance outside of Roon.

Problem was a beginning NAS Hardware failure.
