Hi @Haoyu_Zhai,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. Since you are having issues with your RAATServer let’s generate a new RAATServer instance on your device by following these instructions, but please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings → Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have:
Hi I exited roon and killed roon server process. Removed the RAATServer folder and restarted Roon. However I did not see RAATServer folder being created nor did the process being started. Also Roon still cannot find my devices
Finally if none of that works can you take a look at your console logs? You can find them by pressing cmd + spacebar and then typing console in the search window.
RAATServer is not active, the process cannot be found, and that keeps the same even after I restarted the roon server (by killing it and restart roon)
The firewall is not even activated
I’m not sure what you mean by “console log”? I can open a console (actually I’m a software engineer so kind of familiar with it) but not sure what log are you talking about?
Thanks for the above information! Sorry to hear you’re still having issues with the system output of your Mac.
I see you have two mac machines both setup as remotes as well as Roon Server - did you by chance use TimeMachine between them? Is time machine active on either device?
Navigate to Console>Console Log after reproducing the issue and upload it here:
Can you also take a screen shot of your audio Midi setup settings on the mac and share it here?
Lastly, I think performing a full removal and reinstallation of Roon may help in this case. Be sure to save your backups folder though so you can restore your settings from a saved backup.
Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
Reinstall the RoonServer App from our Downloads Page to generate a new RoonServer folder
On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database
Before restoring from a saved backup, go through the normal Roon initial setup and see if you run into the same issue before restoring your backup - I’ll be curious if your system output will be available in this setting.
Hi @benjamin and @daniel , the problem seems solved, I’m not sure which step I did makes it work but basically I did following (just in case you want to debug):
I changed my system output’s freq in MIDI from 96khz back to 44.1khz (I think it is changed previously by another music player app)
