· Roon is persisting a RAAT session across a physical output hardware reset that invalidates the original clock and stream context.
It should instead destroy and rebuild that session automatically. This stems from Roon changing session handling behavior in 2.58–2.60. In my harware example my Lumin U2 mini with my SPL Audio Diamond DAC (software bug within ROON).
Thanks for reaching out. We actually just released an Early Access build that targets this issue, if you’re up for it, can you please give the Early Access build a try and let us know if it solves the issue on your end?
Diagnostics don’t show that you’ve migrated your server to the Early Access branch where we are testing a fix for this issue with Lumin.
If you’d prefer to wait, the fix should be released in the next Roon update. Otherwise, please follow the steps @Noris has shared above to migrate your Roon Server to the Early Access branch.
I completed a Roon update yesterday (2.61). I think it may have fixed the firmware update issue I was experiencing with the Lumin U2 mini usb handshake & Roon (RAAT server)…& my SPL audio DAC upon resumed start up. Excuse me if I’ve framed up the pre existing issue with the wrong wording…but Peter Lie (Lumin firmware lead) has been insightful, helpful, and resolute in assisting with the fix barring whatever Roon can do on their end of the firmware bug. I’m a pragmatic end user and I don’t really care for these backend discussions. I only want to push the button & listen to my music. I’m finding with Roon that’s increasingly not always the case.
Glad to hear that the new released helped with the issue, this is wonderful news! Thanks again for your patience as we addressed this and we wish you a continued enjoyable Roon experience!
