Description of Issue

I am in the UK and we tend to use BBC channels, primarily BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4, but for some reason these have stopped working. When I press play I get a “Playback was interupted because track failed to load” message. This is the same if I try the AAC or mp3 streams. On investigation, I can’t get any other station to load either.

I have use the radio feature for a few years, so I am not sure what has happened. I don’t think its network related my end, but I could be mistaken.

I have tried restarted my core but not had any luck. Roon works fine otherwise, and ARC too.

Can you try a flac radio stream? E.g. 95bfm. That will determine if your codecs are at fault.

Thanks @BrianW. I jjust tried 95bfm, and the flac stream does work, the mp3 and aac does not.

I re-copied the codecs see here https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/roon-os-missing-codecs#Missing_Codecs? and its all working now! Thank you.

Good news - though I wonder why they needed to be replaced, given they were working before.

After thinking about it, the only thing I can think of, I am prone to tinkering and moving my core every now and again. Possibly the last time I did it (not sure when), I somehow did not copy the file correctly. I am not sure the timescales line up, but its possible.

If you copied ffmpeg using Linux then there may have been an execute permission missing. It’s been mentioned before on the forum.
