Hi @Nick_Taylor1,
Thanks for writing in to ask about this issue. The best way to troubleshoot this is by locating the event in your logs to see what your server was doing at the time. To help us out with this process can you please reproduce the Radio Paradise drop out and then let us know the date and time that it happened. Also can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Hi Daniel, thanks for your response I have uploaded my logs to the file uploader using my email [email redacted by support] as reference.

Hello @Nick_Taylor1 ,

Thanks for letting us know. It looks like you are getting dropouts when playing to your Fiio zone. Can you confirm, does the issue happen when playing to other zones as well, such as System Output? Also, we have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS.

Thank you for your reply Noris, Yes the problem applies to all zones and is unique to roon.
I have tried changing my DNS server to no avail.
Any ideas you have in resolving this would be much appreciated.
Regards
Nick Taylor

Hey @Nick_Taylor1,

Perhaps your router firmware is needing an update? Let me know what version you’re running.

The stoppage does seem to be bandwidth-related:

Trace: [Fiio] [zoneplayer/raat] too many dropouts. stopping stream
Warn: [zone Fiio] Track Stopped Due to Slow Media

Perhaps simplifying your network setup would be helpful in this case. I’d see about eliminating as much gear in between your router and Roon Server, and see if there’s an opportunity to allocate additional bandwidth to the machine running Roon. :+1:

Thanks for your response Benjamin but the problem has recured.
I tried rewiring my house to simplify my system as suggested to no avail.
My system has been working perfectly for several years and has internet speeds of around 300mbs.
All other internet radio stations , other than in roon , work perfectly.
Tried using different LAN cables, different roon core same result.
Running the latest version on my router.
Any help would be appreciated.

Tried everything suggested here with no resolution.

Hey @Nick_Taylor1,

I see a second Roon Server running on a Windows machine, are you also using this Roon Server?

If so, does the issue occur in this setup? Please make sure you only ever have one Roon Server powered on and running within your setup.

Have you tested out using different ethernet cables/ports from the NUC and your router?

Yes tried changing servers and cables.
Pretty sure I only have 1 core running at any one time however I do have an endpoint.
Rang my ISP and got them to ‘reset’ my connection and am getting better speeds with slightly improved connection now getting about 30 mins for the time being.
Thanks
