Random tracks .. how do i stop it

I go to my playlist “My tracks” and press play, the track ends and roon start to randomly play some other track not in my playlist .. how do i disable this and stick to my own “My tracks” selection ?

Does this happen at the end of the playlist? Go to the queue screen for the affected zone and turn off Roon Radio. Note that this is a separate setting for each zone:

yes this stops the random tracks .. so “my tracks” (i use tidal) does not count as a playlist, i need to compose a playlist each time i start roon ?

The Roon Radio applies to the output zone and if it is enabled, it starts automatically whenever your play queue ends in this zone, regardless of what it was that you played (e.g., an album or a playlist.

No. Whatever you play gets added to the queue automatically (not to a playlist). The queue contains all the tracks you chose to play. By default, if you click Play Now on anything, this item gets added to the queue and is played automatically. E.g., all tracks of an album.

You can also click the little arrow button next to Play Now and then you can choose whether the album (or playlist, etc) is played immediately (Play Now) or if it’s added “Next” (after the currently playing track) or to the end of the queue (“Queue”).

You can choose the available options in Settings > Play Actions.

Check to make sure shuffle is off.
Hitting “play” from my tracks should populate the queue, but if shuffle is toggled on in the queue it scambles the order.

More complete view of where to find Shuffle on the Queue page of the PC/tablet app

Thanks, the “play now” button works for me, i get all the songs in my tracks list now without random tracks

I’m glad someone brought this up. (even though the chatbot just told me only reply if this doesn’t work). Clever.

Anyway, seems the radio feature should be opt-in instead of defaulting on.The expected function of a playlist is too, well, play the playlist. What programmer thought this needed ‘improvement’? For 6 months I thought this was a bug. A few songs into a 100+ song playlist, it’d veer off the playlist and start to play random non-playlist tracks. At the very least there should have been some indicator saying, “Ok, we’re switching to Radio mode now”.

Roon should not do this - the 100+ Playlist tracks should be put in the Queue, and only when the very end of the Queue is reached will Roon Radio kick in (unless you turn it off).

Possibly its just in Roon Arc. I’ve only noticed it there, but to be fair that’s most my playing. Would clicking > (next) or swiping next route me off the playlist? Anyway I’ve found if I just keep the playlist up and click on the next track rather than the “>” navigation seems to keep me on the list better. Again I just thought this was a bug I learned to live with.
