Raspberry 3, HifiBerry DAC+ Pro and DSD

Successfully installed the latest DietPi and for the most part all works as expected with the exception of DSD playback. I have installed the correct Linux Kernel via the DietPi install and indicates that the correct Kernel is installed to allow for DSD playback, but Roon via DietPi wants to convert everything to PCM. What am I doing wrong?

PCM rates up to 192 allow DSD64 so it should play that. DSD128 and DSD256 require PCM rates of 3xx and 7xx which that device cannot do.

I have instaled DietPi, the additional Kernel that allows the higher PCM rates, and Roon via the DietPi interface. See URL/Thread below;

Thanks for the reply!

Nothing I have tried will get DSD to play DoP with any of the 24/192 DACs like IQAudio or Allo to name a couple, all work fine on converting to PCM. I tried the 384K Kernel too and still no good even setting max rate to DSD64 still silent.

Same in Volumio for that matter too.

As you stated previously and according to my logs and Audio Output I see where the audio/dsd file is being converted to PCM. Thanks again!

A friend just posted this link for me…certainly looks interesting, I hope one day all this will be much easier with SBC’s
