Raspberry Pi as endpoint with WiFiBerry DAC+ Pro, Then Line-in to old Sonos 5 gen 1?

Hi, for one room, I would like to repurpose my wife’s old Sonos 5 gen 1 amp, which has a line-in, in my Roon setup (which includes an audiophile quality system elsewhere in the house).

I am proposing that I use a Raspberry Pi with RopieeeXL, and with the HAT WiFiBerry DAC+ Pro (or the Boss DAC), in a casing. If I understand correctly, the RPi would be connected directly via ethernet cable to the nearest ethernet port (we have cat 6 points in each room). There would then be a wired connection that takes the red and white RCA from the DAC HAT into one 1.5m jack input into the ‘line-in’ of the Sonos amp.

I’m thinking RopieeXL just in case we get an AirShare based speaker at some point, to replace the Sonos. Then the signal would travel wirelessly to such a device from the RPi.

Can anyone tell me whether this has any flaws? Would it work? Have I missed something? High-res SQ would not be required as the speaker isn’t good enough to benefit.

You can also add the Sonos Speaker as a roon endpoint because Roon has built in sonos support. I don’t believe you are able to group it with non sonos products though (not sure about this however).

Ropiee XL works great though and this setup would work. You will need a DAC like the boss HAT that you are talking about and the cable to go from RCA to the connector on the sonos speaker. Ropiee was super easy to setup though.
