Raspberry PI via Oppo Sonica Dac?

HiFiBerry Digi + SPDIF audio out extension for the Raspberry Pi or directly from the Raspberry Pi 3 via Oppo Sonica DAC is this possible and Roon Ready?

Pi with DietPi software and RoonBridge installed direct to Oppo Sonica via USB. Only reason to choose SPDIF is if your USB input is already in use.
DietPi was selected because of the relative ease of installation plus the support here.

I did try the Sonica DAC with a Pi but I don’t have it now - waiting for a production unit to ship - don’t recall if I tried with DSD via the USB via the Pi but I think everything else worked fine
