Just an update.
I managed to determine that it was the ethernet supply that was creating the noise
I’m with Sky and they gave us a Wifi extender some time ago and so I plugged that into the wall, used the ethernet out and I get perfect sound with no noise
So the TP link it appears is a piece of s**t
