Re-flashed device and now will not boot - FIXED

I had Ropieee 2026.01 installed and working on my RPi 3 + Allo DigiOne Signature. Then I had to reconfigure my network, and when I came back the RPi wasn’t visible on the network. This isn’t uncommon, and I decided just to re-flash rather than try to diagnose.

However, after re-flashing, I cannot even get the RPi to boot. It stops at one point and just flashes the green LED very rapidly (see video attached).

Things I have tried without success:

  • Re-flashed multiple times, with 2026.01 and 2025.10.2
  • Re-flashed onto a different micro SD card
  • Re-flashed with two different PCs
  • Plugged in HDMI to see if there is some output that would be useful (I see Linux boot output but quite quickly the display just goes black. It would be helpful if there were diagnostic information here)
  • Re-booted without network connected
  • Changed the network switch from a 2.5G to a 1G
  • Stripped down the RPi+Hat to ensure that all of the connections were clean and tight, and to double/triple check that it’s an RPi 3B (it is).

At this point I’m kind of at a loss. I flashed DietPi and was able to get that to boot to a login prompt.

Any thoughts on how I can continue to diagnose this?

Did you flash the right image?

I flashed the RPi 3B version, yes. And that version was working just a week or so ago. I tore down the RPi at 11pm last night to double check it was a version 3.

@Michael_Griggs
I presume that you are connected via a networkcable, and not via WiFi. Can you check your router which IP-address was given to your RPI3B ?
Then you can logon to that IP-address via a browser.
Kind regards, Frank.

OK, this looks to (still) be a network problem. I’ll pause this thread whilst I do some reconfiguration and then I will come back and post an update.

There was still a misconfiguration in my network, which prevented the RPi from getting an IP address. Once that was fixed the device is visible on the network and the LED is flashing at the appropriate speed.
