Re-install Roon server

Hi there,
I would like to re install Roon server on my SOtM 1000sqWE streamer but keep getting ‘please quit all instances of RoonServer before conrinuing’ What can I do?
Thanks, Anton

Hi @Anton_Zwartkruis ---- Thank you for the post!

I do not have one of these devices on hand to verify but can you confirm if the RoonServer process has been stopped on the 1000SQ-WE or is it still running?

From the device’s user manual:

Hi Eric,
Thanks for your reply. I think it is still running but I keep getting the message ‘no audio devices found’ on my remote on my iPad. Everything is connected, streamer is ‘stable’, latest Roon version. Thats why I wanted to re-install the server, but now I can’t uninstall it
Anton

Hi @Anton_Zwartkruis ---- Thanks for touching base and providing the additional insight. Appreciated!

Moving forward, may I very kindly ask you for the following:

  1. What devices are not showing up in Roon? Having the makes/models of these devices would be very helpful.

  2. Is this only occurring on the iPad OR are none of your endpoints being seen by the application at all?

-Eric

Hi Eric,

Jplay is not appearing. It is happening on iPad, iPhone as wel as Windows laptop. My DAC is a Metrum HEX. The SoTM sms-1000sq is a Windows OS based streamer.
Thanks, Anton

Thanks for the follow up and feedback @Anton_Zwartkruis, very appreciated!

Being that the SMS-1000SQ is based around Windows can you confirm if there have been any Win10 updates recently that you are aware of? I have seen instances in the past were automated Win10 updates can cause troubles with remotes and even endpoints.

My sense is that you may not have that type of visibility into the SMS-1000SQ but maybe someone from the SOTM support team can confirm? Have you shared these observations with the SOTM team yet?
