Why was the enable/disable MUSE switch removed?
Ever since I experienced the open, clear, fast, and transparent sound quality with MUSE completely bypassed, listening with MUSE active is no longer an option for me.
Roon states that MUSE is automatically disabled as soon as all filters are removed. However, for me, this is not a working solution because Roon has introduced an unremovable “Unknown” filter.
Bringing back the dedicated toggle switch to bypass MUSE would be the best solution. It not only resolves this persistent “Unknown” filter bug, but also offers users a convenient, one-click way to bypass MUSE processing whenever they prefer a bit-perfect signal path. Right now, this unwanted processing is bottlenecking the performance of my entire setup.
Has anyone else encountered this issue, or found a reliable workaround?

Are you not seeing the “Bypass all filters” toggle?
I don’t ever remember there being an “enable/disable” switch for Muse. Going back through screenshots taken years ago, even when Muse was still called DSP, I see no “enable/disable” switch, just the same “Bypass all filters” switch as shown above in the above pic.
Perhaps post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
My apologies if I’m misunderstanding the issue.
Another vote for the “create a preset with no filters” suggestion. I have a preset called “null”, which has everything turned off, and makes it easy to switch to and from MUSE settings.
For comparison purposes, I also have a preset with only a headroom adjustment, so I can emulate the headroom adjustment applied with other MUSE filters, e.g. OPRA headphone curves, to compare the effect of those filters on and off, but at the same volume.
