I copied my files from my NAS to my ROCK internal storage. I initially thought I could simply point my folders to the internal storage, but the system automatically reads the drive, resulting in the entire library being re-added. Now, I need to go through each album to reassign playlists and tags. Is there another method, or is this the standard process?

What you’re seeing is expected behavior if the internal storage is added as a new watched folder.
To preserve playlists, tags, play counts, and other library metadata, the important point is that Roon must see the files as the same files in the same folder structure, not as a second location.
Correct approach in this situation
If you copied the files from the NAS to ROCK internal storage while keeping the exact same folder structure, you should not add a new storage path. Instead:
- Go to Settings → Storage
- Locate the existing NAS storage entry
- Click Disable
- Copy all content to the internal storage.
- Click “Edit.”
- Change the folder path to point to the internal storage location (for example:
\\ROCK\Data\Storage\InternalStorage\Music) - Save the change
When you edit the existing storage entry rather than adding a new one, Roon treats this as a path change, not a new library, and it will not re-import or duplicate the albums. Your playlists, tags, and metadata assignments will be preserved.
If the folder structure on internal storage does not exactly match the original NAS structure, then Roon has no way to correlate the files, and a full re-import (with reassignment) is unfortunately unavoidable.
So yes — editing the existing storage path is the correct method here, provided the folder structure was kept identical.
