I’m looking for a Roon Ready Endpoint for the connection to my active speakers Canton Smart A45.
The connection to the speakers is digital, either optical, coaxial or USB. That means, the Endpoint does not need a DAC. But ist must be a Roon Ready Endpoint, a Bridge does not work, because I use ROON Essentials with an ELAC Discovery Music Server and ROON Essentials does not support Bridges.
It would be perfect if the Endpoint also support Airplay 2.
Any recommendations?
The WiiM Pro, iFi Zen Stream and NAD CS1 spring to mind. All RR and with AP.
I agree with @RBO, and the WiiM Pro may be the best option now that is it Roon Ready and the price really can’t be beat.

Although the WiiM Pro is hard to beat another option that meets your requirements is the Argon Audio Solo.
Primare NP5. Wired or wireless, SPDIF optical or coaxial. Second hand mkI’s are out there reasonably priced.
You could consider Ropieee XL too.
Raspberry Pi availability is getting better. And XL adds airplay 1 to the Roon Bridge abilities.
As it stands you get USB. A digital HAT from Allo or Hi Fi Berry would give you SPDIF.
Ropieee is a bridge. It is not certified Roon Ready.

The WiiM’s sound slightly better than both the NAD CS1 and RPi on digital output (the CS1 trounces the WiiMs on analogue). The digital differences aren’t night and day though. Statements based on having reviewed all of them on my website.
