Im a bit new to Roon,
Could someone explain to me how the “recordings by popularity” are classified?
Is it based on albums sold? Or how many users have added this particular album to their library?
Or something completely different?

After much searching I eventually found this post! I’ve been wondering the same things for months - mostly because with classical compositions it often seems the most popular recording is the one I happen to be listening to?!!
Could this be then because its not a very popular piece listened to by Roon users and therefore, in a sense, it is the most popular? Or can we sure the fact that it is in my own library ISN’T effecting the ranking? You see I often use this feature for auditioning new releases I haven’t heard of.
