Recording date over multiple non-sequential days

Hi,

I’m currently tagging my music with recording dates. I’m not wondering how you would tag tracks that were recorded over multiple non-sequential days. For instance:

Recording day 1: 1979-01-20
Recording day 2: 1979-02-21
Recording day 3: 1979-03-22

Is the only option to set the start date to 1979-01-20 and end date to 1979-03-22, or is there some smart way of keeping the granular information?

This can’t be done which I agree is a real shame. @brian is there a technical issue here? I can imagine it could open a can of worms…

(Comments field totally inappropriate. No integration with other dates, no sorting ability. Just plain wrong. Etc etc)

There’s no hard technical issue. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the idea. It’s more about whether it is worth it to do the work, add the complexity, complicate the product, etc.

The problem from our side is that we have to change - and essentially falsify - date information to make it fit into Roon’s model. That feels bad.

Thanks for the replies! It was what I suspected, for now I’ll just use the first and last date as start and end date and leave it at that.
