Hi can someone perhaps point me in the right direction here please? I cannot get Roon to read my IDv3 file tags for RECORDINGSTARTDATE and RECORDINGENDDATE. I am populating these tags in MP3Tag but they don’t pull through to Roon. I have Roon import settings set to ‘Prefer File’.
I noticed that it does actually show up in Roon, but it shows at track level, not at album level. Is there an IDv3 file tag I can use to populate these fields at album level in Roon?
I dont think so. Many albums have performances with different start and end date anyway, so it doesnt really make sense to do it at albumlevel.
There is the possibility for adding starting and ending recording dates for the album in the Album Editor, but I don’t think it can be fed by IDv3 tags…
I notice that Roon sometimes adds in location information as well - but I don’t know where it gets this from…

Thanks. I’m just wondering why these fields are available at album level if they’re not typically used. Nevertheless, I decided to capture the album level recording dates manually using the date of the earliest recording on the album as the Recording Start Date and the date of the last recording as the Recording End Date.
You live and learn! I never noticed those start and enddates in the Roon albumeditor LOL
I think the album dates should have an option to automatically go from the first track start date to the last track end date. Makes sense to me in many cases
