I have this odd issue, I’m running Roon server on a Windows 11, its working fine, but when I add tracks to my share on Synology, only the MP3’s appears.
However, when I add same track in FLAC/MP3 format, they do not show until I restart my NAS server or restart the Roon Server, they appear fine.
I could reboot my server every time I add tracks, but…
Have you ever tried to do a “Force rescan” instead as described in:
How long did you wait? Roon has a scheduled rescan interval (check the options of your watched folder) for network shares – but network shares only (does not work if you locally mounted the network share in your Windows and use that instead for Roon).
Note: Often NAS devices fail to properly announce changes to Roon. Synology is known for having a default max_user_watches value of only 8192 entities. So depending on library content, structure and additional files in it, you may start running into issues with libraries around 7k tracks. Synology does not provide users with a means to change that value in their OS/GUI. You can find examples on how to change the value anyway using search (here on the forum or the internet) but you may run into other issues by doing so and setting the value too high for your system to handle.
