Reinstalling roon - will anything be lost?

I’m considering doing a complete reinstall of Roon to try and fix a problem I have. I can see how to do it here: How to uninstall roon 1.8 completely before reinstalling it? I cannot add audio zones and and I find no way to add a new device - #2 by wizardofoz

I will be recovering the database from a backup. Is there anything I might lose when doing this, for example bookmarks, play history (I have a bookmark for tracks I’ve not played in a year), or is everything in the database / on Roons servers ?

If you have a working backup of the Roon database, created with Roon‘s built-in backup feature, this backup contains your complete Roon database (bookmarks, tags, playlists and everything) and server configuration. Restoring this will not lose anything.

Note: you don’t really have to do a complete reinstall.

That’s good to know. As to why the need for a complete reinstall - just to do everything I can to fix / debug a problem I have. Thanks.

As far as I know, every Roon OS update is in fact a complete reinstallation. It doesn’t update individual packages.

Ah, that’s usefull to know - I had the problem both before and after updating to build 1480, so maybe no need. Thanks
