Although the Spotify login issue has not been resolved (yet), there was a lot of stuff piling up…
So stuff all over the place, but the new Realtek driver stands out: this fixes quite a few issues with external WiFi dongles (that are often based upon a Realtek chipset). But there’s other stuff as well:
NEW: add support for InnoMaker HiFi DAC Pro
IMPROVEMENT: update Linux kernel
IMPROVEMENT: update UPnP player component
IMPROVEMENT: use newer (and better) driver for Realtek 8821AU based WiFi dongles
FIX: corruption in WiFi scan result
FIX: ‘Airplay 1’ mode not working on Pi 5
FIX: Roon ‘stop’ command is not working when using remote controller
FIX: sometimes the reported memory size is incorrect
FIX: footer on logout page is broken
ISSUE: Spotify login stopped working
Now, with respect to the Spotify login issue: removing the username/password setting makes it work for me. But results may vary…
@spockfish
All my 5 RPIs (3RPI3 and 2RPI4) are now back in Stable version. The upgrade went smoothly.
Thank you again for all the nice work.
Greetings, Frank.
@spockfish hi Harry, just updated my rpi4 to 2024.09 and unfortunately it seems UPNP/DLNA is not working anymore, I cannot find it from my control app. I tried to reboot a couple of times but nothing changes

Hi @spockfish (Harry) I just updated my Raspberry Pi 3b to the latest stable 2024.9 and also noticed that UPNP/DLNA is broken, I’m unable to see the device any longer.
Well, it actually was However, after I fixed it I ran into a blocking bug (something on my infrastructure), which turned it into a little bit of a nightmare.
Right now I’m building stuff, and so far so good …
