Release 2024.09

Hi,

I’m happy to announce a new release: 2024.09!

Although the Spotify login issue has not been resolved (yet), there was a lot of stuff piling up…
So stuff all over the place, but the new Realtek driver stands out: this fixes quite a few issues with external WiFi dongles (that are often based upon a Realtek chipset). But there’s other stuff as well:

  • NEW: add support for InnoMaker HiFi DAC Pro
  • IMPROVEMENT: update Linux kernel
  • IMPROVEMENT: update UPnP player component
  • IMPROVEMENT: use newer (and better) driver for Realtek 8821AU based WiFi dongles
  • FIX: corruption in WiFi scan result
  • FIX: ‘Airplay 1’ mode not working on Pi 5
  • FIX: Roon ‘stop’ command is not working when using remote controller
  • FIX: sometimes the reported memory size is incorrect
  • FIX: footer on logout page is broken
  • ISSUE: Spotify login stopped working

Now, with respect to the Spotify login issue: removing the username/password setting makes it work for me. But results may vary…

As always: enjoy!

@spockfish
All my 5 RPIs (3RPI3 and 2RPI4) are now back in Stable version. The upgrade went smoothly.
Thank you again for all the nice work.
Greetings, Frank.

RPI3 seems to update normal. Web interface and all is normal. But the display shows only shell output and there is no Roon endpoint.

After flashing a new image RPI hangs in a boot loop after first reboot.

Tried with different sd-cards.

@spockfish hi Harry, just updated my rpi4 to 2024.09 and unfortunately it seems UPNP/DLNA is not working anymore, I cannot find it from my control app. I tried to reboot a couple of times but nothing changes

For me also didn’t see the UPNP device.

Hi @spockfish (Harry) I just updated my Raspberry Pi 3b to the latest stable 2024.9 and also noticed that UPNP/DLNA is broken, I’m unable to see the device any longer.

Thanks Harry.

Thanks, and confirmed: UPnP is broken, unfortunately.

Obviously this has my attention

Hi,

I also can no longer see the UPnP DLNA device on Audrivana,

Is it possible to download and install the prior version?

Thanks,

Rich

@spockfish Did you send update for RP without official update? I can see UPnP Renderer right now.

Hi Harry, is there a way to start the update proces yourself? Is it possible to join a waitinglist. I know you want not to overflow your updateserver.

@spockfish, regarding the Spotify issue, removing username/password worked for me, thanks for the tip!

Any update on this?

I’m not sure what ‘this’ is…

Sorry - should have been clearer. Rope’s DLNA renderer not showing up to servers.

Still working on it. I’ll hope I have a release this weekend that fixes this.

Thanks - it obviously wasn’t a simple one!

Well, it actually was  However, after I fixed it I ran into a blocking bug (something on my infrastructure), which turned it into a little bit of a nightmare.

Right now I’m building stuff, and so far so good …
