Release 2024.12

Same here. Also, after reboot, the system did not detect the availability of 2024.12 [1994] for installation. So for now it appears I am stuck at 2024.10.

It took my Pi4 about 45 – 60 minutes to tell me there was a new version. Leave your Pi on for al least 1 hour an you should get the update.
Update, by the way, worked perfectly!

After 60 minutes i got another chance to update and this time it was successful.

Updated, but noticed that my WiFi Dongle was not longer working. Changed to the built in WiFi which works, just not as well as with the ARCHER T2U NANO which worked very well before…
Is it no longer supported??

Having lots of problems since this last update.

Time is displayed incorrectly. Currently showing Tuesday 17 December at 5:05 am when it’s actually Saturday 28 December at 4:05 am.

Endpoints go missing in Roon.

Roon reports error checking endpoint software version.

Zones not found.

Have rebooted ROCK and endpoints many times but problems persist.

Have two Raspberry Pi 3B with Audiophonics I-Sabre ES9028Q2M DAC, 7" OLED Touch Screen, Volume control, Steel case, and 16 GB memory card running RoPieee OS to create a RoonBridge.

@spockfish
I noticed that I was able to put the volume on the RoPieee display to its maximum of 96, although I forced in Roon the endpoint its “Comfort Limit” and its “Safety Limits” to 65. So, according to me, RoPieee shouldn’t be able to go higher than 65.
Is this a bug in RoPieee, or is this a bug in Roon, or are thos volume limits not possible in RoPieee?
Kind regards, Frank.

I need to figure this out. AFAIK the API does not provide any information about the volume limits (just min, max and step), but maybe it’s missing in the doc.

I’ll get back to you about this…

Thanks

The feedback ID is: fa3ec948d1c4c2a8 if you want to check the settings

Thank you for your help; Frank.

I was wrong. The information is there, and RoPieee is just ignoring it. So that’s a bug.
Still I think RoPieee is not the only one at fault here: as a device that uses the API you can just ignore the limits (that’s what you’re experiencing)… I would think that should not be possible.

Anyhow, looking into this now to get this fixed.

Thanks

Left everything for over a day. Checked just then and everything is working again. Most bizarre.

Updated from 9.1 flawless as always. Thanks for your great work, Harry. A happy, healthy new year.

@spockfish I actually mentioned something similar recently. Linking for reference.

For the last few stable updates, it is not remembering my device names and time zones. After updates, I have to go back in and re-name each one and set the correct timezone, let it go through a configuration, and then reboot. I never used to have to do this. I didn’t mention this on the last few updates, as I thought it might have something to do with me moving. But now that I’ve been here for the last 6 months, and updated stable releases a week or so after they are available, I do remember having to do this at least for the last three consecutive updates.

Not sure how to report bugs with Ropieee as I’m pretty new. I just wanted to mention that I experience exactly this Spotify Connect way too loud when using hardware volume control with version 2024.12

on my side with a RPi4 and an Hifiberry AMP2 HAT.

Then I think it’s time to reflash. I’m afraid something is broken…

I am also having trouble with NAA in this release. Sending DSD works fine to my DSD DAC, but sending 384kHz PCM to my PCM DAC no longer works.

The error in the log is:
NAA output requested format not available!
NAA output clNetEngine::PushPCM(): engine not ready
clHQPlayerEngine::Execute(): push to FIFO failed

Alan

I am having issues since the Dec update as well.

I can only play Roon music through Ropiee if the Roon sample rate conversion is enabled in Muse. I can only play cd res streams and files using Roon w HQplayer if I go that alternate route. All of these streams and files appear to be playing in Roon and HQplayer with appropriate pathways but no sound is emitted. The activity light on the attached SDX USB converter I use goes out and the Qutest lights dim as if nothing is playing. I have had this issue with Allo USBsig and reflashed Ropiee with no improvement. I bought a RPi4 to try and have the same issues. There’s more detail in the thread I linked.
