Release 2026.08.3 (.NET 10 RoonBridge 2.71 fix)

Hi,

After today’s issue with .NET 10 RoonBridge 2.71 (build 1683) breaking after the last update, I released a hotfix earlier today that fixes the issue for most users.

This formal release resolves the issue properly and should also work for those people where the earlier hotfix did not work.

For the pi 3b+ version, (compressed and uncompressed) I am getting error opening source

Error: (0, h.requestMetadata) is not a function

When trying to load with Etcher…

That has nothing to do with RoPieee. Try something else as Etcher to write the image.

Confirming this formal release fixed the issue for my Pi 3b+ unit, for which the earlier emergency script hotfix did not work. Thank you for the help with this, Harry. Donation incoming.

All good here bar one not showing an update available, but im sure it will be picking it up soon.

If we get back on the Beta channel will we all be updated OK yet?

See latest post in BETA Release 20260818 - #12 by spockfish Beta is fixed as well.

My older Rpi4, which is currently running 2026.05 (3946) [BETA], is prompting me to upgrade to:

Update 2026.08.0 [3962] downloaded and available for your device!

shouldn’t that be 08.3? Am I safe to accept this upgrade, please?

Edit: the answer seems to be yes: I’m now running the above version, with server on 2.73 (build 1686) earlyaccess, all seems well.

Presumably the 2026.08.3 release a a non-beta stable one, and either the beta 3962 has the fix, or I’m benefitting from the hotfix script?

Regardless, all is working so I’m happy; thanks very much indeed.

I try to update Ropieee on my LHY RPI Pro but Ropieee does not propose any update. How can I force Ropieee to propose the update ? Should I install the latest version 8.0.3 from scratch ?

You can’t force an update. Just leave it on, and in a few hours you’ll receive the notification.

Thanks for the information Harry. Could be a good idea to add a button “Check for update” in the Advanced tab.

This is deliberate: the load on RoPieee’s infrastructure is too high when people download an update at the same time.

Had to power off and restart the Pi after installing this update. It’s all good.

Tried the update with my pi4 .. now I’m stuck in a endless update loop . Only option is to flash the SD card again ?
