Description of Issue

Remote shows no albums in my library (“empty folder”) so I can’t play. The server and ipad are connected as seen in server log and remote looses connection if server shutdown. Server log shows the file path in local storage as setup in remote and seems to loading. The only problem I see is in set-up, if I try to find OS all I get is a spinning logo. This hardware/network has worked for years until a power outage. I have uninstalled/reinstalled both core and remote. Any advice.

That’s not a problem. You don’t have Roon OS so just stop try to find it and all is well with that (no more spinning logo).

Thanks, I assumed OS and core were synonymous. Any thoughts on the missing library?

No sorry, I don’t own such a device. Maybe something got corrupted or destroyed because of the power outage and subsequent return of power. Manufacturer support should be able to help you check that the hardware and software (firmware) are still working properly. If this is ensured, then you probably have to restore a backup of your Roon db from before the power outage.

Note: A db in use often has pending write tasks and db based products (like Roon) often store state information on use and shutdown. The power outage may have messed up your db by preventing pending write task to finish and left state information for the application in an undefined state.

The hardware is working because i can use other GUI software and everything plays. The power outage may be a problem but could just be spurious. Either way, only Roon remote has a problem that I can’t fix. I’m not that concerned about restoring the old Roon database. Is there a way just to start over?

If not bothered about anything from Roon of old then easiest is to uninstall Roon Core and Roon remote software.
Ensure any old Roon folders are deleted from the pc.
Then reinstall the Roon Core software first and set it up as if new, adding streaming services and music storage locations.
Then reinstall the Roon remote software.

Should be good to go after Roon has finished importing your music and analyzing it.

I reinstalled both core and remote, still shows I have no albums in the library. The server log is"

This seems to show that the file path I used was followed but no tracks were found. When doing setup, Roon prompted me with sonicTransport=HD/=>root/ to which I added my folders storage and music. Obviously this didn’t work. Should “root” be in the path, is something wrong?

Thanks

Can you post a screenshot from settings:storage showing exact path for your music folders?

Here are my settings:

I solved the problem! The music path was incorrect after all. Thanks
