Describe the issue

When I download any new software update I lose remote connections and usually fix this by downloading a new Roon app

Describe your network setup

Its Router Netcomm and IMac 2022 and use that as Roon Server Unfortunately this time on downloading new Roon app cannot access Roon Server

Andrew,

If you’re running macOS 15, please try what Benjamin suggests about local network settings in this post.

Hi Mark
Thanks for the info
I have tried that with no luck
So it’s still not letting me into the Server

Andrew,

Sorry to hear that.

To help folk here assist, please tell us a little more about your setup:

  • hardware
  • macOS version
  • Roon version
  • network
  • external drives
  • screenshot of any error messages which you receive.

Everyone’s here to help  !

Hi Mark
The IMac M1 2021
The OS version is Sequoia 15.2
The Roon version is the latest but I cant get there to tell
The Network is Ethernet
I have aNAS drive to store some music QNAP
The Roon page says Waiting
The Router is Netcomm Cloud mesh
This has worked well until the latest Roon update
The Roon page just says Waiting for your Roon Server

Hi @Andrew_Day,

Thank you for your post.

The machine you’ve described doesn’t appear to be running RoonServer, according to our diagnostic servers. This MacOS instance is only running the Roon GUI, while a defunct server instance hasn’t been seen in four days.

Do you see RoonServer running in the menu bar? The Roon log should appear beside your WiFi icon and any other background processes.

If you see an option within Roon to “select a different RoonServer,” do you see your current Mac server listed there?

Hi Connor
Thankyou very much for your response
Unfortunately I am not brilliant at this but have been battling along reasonably for 2 years+
Not sure what a Roon GUI is but glad its there!
Anyway there is no Roon log in the menu bar at the top of the IMac screen next to the WIFI icon
There is however the current Mac server option when I "select a different Roon Server "
All very strange!
Andrew

Hi Connor
I followed the suggestion to use this Mac as the Server …and it worked!
Not sure why it disappeared after the Roon update but I’m happy thanks!

Andrew
