Description of Issue

After upgrade to the latest build 1272, the Roon core often disconnected with Roon remote device, pop up message “waiting for your core” and “Make sure your Roon core is on” After a few minutes, the connection will be recovered. During the disconnection period, the Roon core is still playing music without interruption. At mean time if using mobile phone to access Roon core, there will be the same error message pop up.

Did you also update the remotes? You mentioned the core update, but not the remotes.

Yes, the remote has been updated to the lastest version

Hey @Depei_Wang,

Sorry for the delay here! As an immediate next step, lets see if a fresh database results in the same issue. Steps to follow below:

  • Create a fresh backup of your current database
  • Stop RoonServer from running in ROCK’s WebUI
  • Navigate to your ROCK’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Restart the RoonServer in the WebUI to generate a new Roon database folder
  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Core” and connect to the new database

Let me know if your issue persists after the above. If it does, please share the date and time the next time you run into connectivity issues. I’ll be on standby for your reply. Thanks! :+1:

I found the possible cause that the optical fiber link to my NUC is not stable. That probably caused the bad connection with Roon Core. After I reconnect the fiber link module, the issue is gone. Why the Roon core can play music without interruption maybe because the music has been buffered into NUC memory.
