Describe the issue

running Roon Core on Mac mini (2018), sequoia 15.2 and Eero network pro 6e now for over a year. in the last 2 weeks, my remotes do not show up for play. only the living room (main-mac mini to stereo there.)
so, kitchen (iPad), iPhone, or home theatre do not even show up as audio nodes. Somehow they showed up last week but for just a day. now they're gone. I've rebooted network, the cable modem, the server, Roon several times. kinda crippled in terms of playback if you ask me.
let me know how else I can help you get to the solution- thank you. Phillip

Describe your network setup

server is ethernet, several other remote nodes are ethernet into Eero routers. pro 6e

Have your checked in Roon “settings/Audio” to see if they are there and enabled?

Yes they don’t show up there either. Strange.

Hey @PHILLIP_CRUMP,

Thanks for sharing your report!

Since you’re running Roon Server on Mac Sequoia, can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network , and make sure Roon is allowed. If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

If you’re still having issues after the above, are you able to review your Mac firewall settings? If you temporarily disable your firewall, do your devices appear properly?

We’ll be on standby for your reply! :+1:

TY - I checked those settings mentioned (…roon allowed) in P&S and they were set correctly. Somehow, this morning all of my audio endpoints show up on the server and endpoint/control side.
Now this IS a good thing and being functional = happiness. What I don’t understand is why this happened in the 1st place since I did nothing to incur or remedy the situation. It’s not my nature to cross my fingers and hope things work out for the best.
any ideas? your thoughts?
thanks - Phil

Hi @PHILLIP_CRUMP,
It’s hard to know exactly what caused these speakers to reappear. Have they disappeared again since you last posted? The most likely scenario is that there’s some sort of instability in the connection between your sever and your remotes. If the problem returns test having the remote and server connected to the router itself instead of one of the mesh access points and see if that makes a difference.

Well the Roon server is connected Ethernet to the primary router which is connected to the ISP cable modem. The instability to which you refer would have to be between the eero WiFi/mesh routers.
In the WLAN environment here I experience no such issues otherwise.
I will pay attention to this. Thanks for your support and help. Cheers :christmas_tree::clinking_glasses::musical_score:

I’m glad Roon is working in your current environment. I’ll mark this thread as solved and it will close. If the problem returns let us know and we will merge you new post into this one and continue troubleshooting.
