Is there any place where we could report about unidentified / misidentified albums? I see a lot of threads on this topic and the Roon user base could definitely help extend/fix any inconsistencies in your already extensive database.
E.g. I reported about the unidentified album Ten Redux by Pearl Jam over email, but I’m not sure whether anything is done with it. If we could somehow track this, that would be really helpful.
Yes, you can report them here in the Metadata Issue section of the forum.
I suggest you create a topic for each problem album.
It would be really nice to have this automatically through Roon.
When realising that an album is mismatched, I could just click “Report Metadata Issues…” and then write a short summary. Roon would automatically pick up all necessary data for that album, logs, Roon version, licence number and whatever else is needed and then send all this to some server at RoonLabs.
The server at RoonLabs should ideally process all this automatically as well so that the metadata providers are alerted about the issues.
Not only would this help Roon users but anyone using those metadata providers. Perhaps Roon users (once proven worthy) even could be given some kind of “author” status and send updates to the providers.
This is such an obvious need, with such obvious benefits, that I can’t believe the requests have been languishing for years. Who’s the product manager for Roon? This should go to the top of the list!!
